Dannebrogor Danebrog. The old flag of Denmark. The tradition is that Waldemar II. of Denmark saw in the heavens a fiery cross which betokened his victory over the Esthonians (1219). This story is very similar to that of Constantine (q.v.), and of St. Andrew's Cross. (See Andrew, St.)
