HindaDaughter of Al Hassan, the Arabian ameer of Persia. Her lover,
Hafed, was a Gheber or Fire-worshipper, the sworn enemy of Al Hassan
and all his race. Al Hassan sent her away for safety, but she was taken
captive by Hafed's party, and when her lover (betrayed to Al Hassan)
burnt himself to death in the sacred fire, Hinda cast herself headlong
into the sea. ( Source: Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, E. Cobham Brewer, 1894
