Hindustan
The country of the Hindûs. (Hind [Persic] and Sind
[Sanskrit] means “black,” and tan = territory is very common, as
Afghanistan, Beloochistan, Farsistan, Frangistan, Koordistan [the
country of the Koords], Kohistan [the high-country], Kafiristan [the
infidel country], etc.)
