Hudson
(Sir Jeffrey.) The famous dwarf, at one time page to Queen
Henrietta Maria. Sir Walter Scott has introduced him in his Peveril of the Peak, chap. xxxiv. Vandyke has immortalised him by his
brush; and his clothes are said to be preserved in Sir Hans Sloane's
museum. (1619-1678.) The person slain in a duel by this dwarf was the
Hon. Mr. Crofts.
