Brewer's: Rhopalic Verse

(wedge-verse). A line in which each successive word has more syllables than the one preceding it (Greek, rhopalon, a club, which from the handle to the top grows bigger.)

Rem tibi confeci, doctissime, dulcisonorum.

Spes deus aeternae-est stationis conciliator.

Hope ever solaces miserable individuals.
