Severus
(St.). Patron saint of fullers, being himself of the
same craft.
The Wall of Severus.
A stone rampart, built in 208 by the Emperor Severus, between the
Tyne and the Solway. It is to the north of Hadrian's wall, which was
constructed in 120.
