Larreta, Enrique Rodríguez

Larreta, Enrique Rodríguez ānrēˈkā rôᵺrēˈgāth lärrāˈtä [key], 1875–1961, Argentine novelist. Larreta lived for many years in Spain and France. His fame rests on La gloria de don Ramiro (1908, tr. 1924), a historical novel of the days of Philip II. It is a classic of the polished modernista genre. Larreta's other novels include the gaucho story Zogoibi (1926) and En la pampa (1955).
