Macedonio Melloni

Melloni, Macedonio (mächādôˈnyō māl-lōˈnē) [key], 1798–1854, Italian physicist. Known especially for his investigations of heat, he pointed out the similarity of heat to light, showing that it also is refracted, reflected, and polarized.
