MikonMikon (mĪˈkŏn) [key], fl. c.460 B.C., Greek painter and sculptor. In collaboration with Polygnotus he painted The Greeks and the Amazons and the celebrated Battle of Marathon in the Stoa Poecile (Gr. Poikile ) at Athens. He is supposed to have contributed paintings for the decoration of the temple of the Dioscuri at Athens and the Theseum. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia, 6th ed.
