John MoodyMoody, John, 1868–1958, American financial writer, b. Jersey City, N.J. He was working in a Wall Street brokerage house in 1900 when he founded Moody's Manual of Railroads and Corporation Securities. It was followed in 1905 by Moody's Magazine, a monthly, and in 1909 by Moody's Analyses of Investments, an annual. His The Truth about Trusts (1904) is an important source on the merger movement.
