Juan Pantoja de la Cruz

Pantoja de la Cruz, Juan (hwän päntōˈhä ħā lä krōth) [key], 1553–1608, Spanish portrait painter, court painter to Philip II and Philip III; pupil and follower of Alonzo Sánchez Coello. The Prado contains beautiful examples of his severe portraiture and also a fine Nativity.
