Stjernstedt, Marika (märēˈkä shĕrnˈstĕt) [key], 1875–1954, Swedish novelist. Stjernstedt's works reflect her distinguished family heritage as well as her liberal social and political interests. Her skill in narrative is revealed in the novels Resning i målet [higher aims] (1925), one of several of her works describing the life of the independent single woman, and Spegling i en skärva [images in a broken glass] (1936), concerning Russian aristocrats at the time of the Revolution of 1917.
