Baal-berith

Baal-berith (bāˈəl-bēˈrĭth) [key] [Heb., = Lord of the covenant], local god of Shechem mentioned in the Book of Judges. It has been suggested that the Israelites and local inhabitants of Shechem ratified a covenant there in the temple of Baal.
