behemoth

behemoth (bēˈhĭmŏth, bĭhēˈ–) [key] [Heb., = plural of beast ], large, fanciful primeval monster, like Leviathan, evoking the hippopotamus mentioned in the Book of Job. In the Book of Psalms the term occurs in a non-mythological context.
