King of Prussia

King of Prussia, industrialized suburban area (1990 pop. 18,406), Montgomery co., SE Pa. It has glass and steel fabricating, food processing, printing and publishing, and varied manufacturing (textiles, liquified petroleum gas, water-treatment and electrical equipment, motors and gears, security systems). It is also a major retailing center. Villanova Univ. is nearby, as is Valley Forge National Historical Park (see National Parks and Monuments (table)national parks and monuments (table)), containing the Freedom Foundation national shrine that honors medal recipients from U.S. wars.
