Maywood. 1 City (1990 pop. 27,850), Los Angeles co., S Calif., a suburb of Los Angeles; inc. 1924. Although chiefly residential, it produces chemicals, signs, foods, and glass. Its industrial base has declined. 2 Village (1990 pop. 27,139), Cook co., NE Ill., a suburb of Chicago, on the Des Plaines River; inc. 1881. A farm marketing and processing point, it is also a manufacturing center. Loyola Univ. Medical Center is in Maywood. 3 Borough (1990 pop. 9,473), Bergen co., NE N.J., a residential suburb between Hackensack and Paterson; inc. 1894. Chemicals and pharmaceuticals are produced.
