AsahikawaAsahikawa (äsähēˈkäwä) [key], city (1990 pop. 359,071), W central Hokkaido, Japan, on the Ishikari River. Asahikawa is the commercial, industrial, and rail center of a great agricultural region. Brewing, wood products, and cotton yarn are among the city's chief industries.
