Bhatpara

Bhatpara bətpäˈrə [key], city, West Bengal state, NE India, on the Hugli River. Once a center of Sanskrit learning, it is now part of the Hugliside industrial complex. Jute products, paper, and cotton goods are the chief manufactures.
