Ceredigion

Ceredigion, county, 694 sq mi (1,797 sq km), W Wales. Ceredigion, corresponding to the former county of Cardiganshire, was established in 1996 when the nonmetropolitan county of Dyfed was dissolved. Cardiganshire (Welsh Sir Ceredigion) had been joined with Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire in 1974 to form Dyfed.
