Ceredigion
Ceredigion, county, 694 sq mi (1,797 sq km), W Wales. Ceredigion, corresponding to the former county of Cardiganshire, was established in 1996 when the nonmetropolitan county of Dyfed was dissolved. Cardiganshire (Welsh Sir Ceredigion ) had been joined with Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire in 1974 to form Dyfed.
