Cholet

Cholet (shôlāˈ) [key], city (1990 pop. 56,540), Maine-et-Loire dept., W France, in Poitou, on the Maine River. Cholet, a livestock market, has textile, metallurgical, electronic, and rubber manufactures. It was totally destroyed during the Vendée wars.
