Grand-Mère (gräNmĕrˈ) [key], city (1991 pop. 14,287), S Que., Canada, on the St. Maurice River, N of Trois Rivières. The Grand-Mère Falls furnish power for paper and pulp mills. The city also has clothing and textile factories, and a growing service industry.
