Greiz

Greiz (grĪts) [key], city (1994 pop. 30,470), Thuringia, central E Germany, on the White Elster River. Manufactures include textiles, paper and paper products, and machinery. From 1306 to 1918, Greiz was the capital of the principality of Reuss (Older Line).
