Kainan

Kainan (kĪnäNˈ) [key], city (1990 pop. 48,596), Wakayama prefecture, S Honshu, Japan, on the Kii Sound. It is a port, railway junction, and industrial center with lacquer ware, textile, and petrochemical industries.
