Les Cayes

Les Cayes ō kā [key], town (1990 est. pop. 37,600), SW Haiti, on the Caribbean Sea. Haiti's chief southern port, it handles exports, mainly sugar and coffee. Hurricanes have devastated the city several times, most recently in 2016. Les Cayes also suffered severe damage in the 2010 Haitian earthquake.
