Motala

Motala (mōˈtäˌlä) [key], city (1990 pop. 29,630), Östergötland co., S Sweden, on Lake Vättern and on the Göta Canal. It is an important lake port and an industrial center. Manufactures include locomotives and radio and television sets. The city has a powerful radio transmitter and a hydroelectric power plant.
