Ourique

Ourique ōrēˈkə [key], town (1991 pop. 1,339), Beja dist., S Portugal, in Baixo Alentejo. Although tradition says Alfonso I defeated the Moors there in 1139, the battle of Ourique was actually fought at some undetermined place nearby.
