Javier Bardem

Bardem was a major star in his native Spain long before he gained wide praise on these shores for his Oscar-nominated role as gay Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas in Before Night Falls (2000). In fact, Bardem comes from a long line of acclaimed Spanish actors. His mother, Pilar Bardem, sister, Monica Bardem, brother, Carlos Bardem, and grandfather, Rafael Bardem, are all actors. Javier, a versatile performer, has appeared in several Pedro Almodovar films, including Carne Tremula (1997) and Tacones Lejanos (1991).
