Released in 1982, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial remains one of the best movies of all time. While foraging in his backyard, Elliott, a timid young boy, stumbles upon an alien whose spaceship left Earth without him. Once he overcomes his fear of the creature, Elliott befriends E.T. and tries to figure out a way to send him home, as difficult—emotionally and practically—as that may be.
