Aberystwyth

Aberystwyth (ăb"urist'with) [key], town (1991 pop. 10,250), Ceredigion, W Wales, on Cardigan Bay. It is a summer resort and cultural center. Before the construction of railroads, Aberystwyth was a coastal trading center. The town is the seat of a constituent institution of the Univ. of Wales and of the National Library of Wales, which has an outstanding collection of Welsh manuscripts.
