Bergisch-Gladbach (ber'gish-glät'bäkh") [key], city (1994 pop. 104,990), North Rhine–Westphalia, W Germany; chartered 1856. Manufactures of this industrial city include paper, machinery, electrical goods, wool, and pharmaceuticals, and iron is smelted.
