Anthony Edward Rupert

After studying and teaching chemistry at Pretoria University, he entered the business world, founding the Rembrandt Group of Companies. His prestige as a prominent member of the Afrikaans language business community led him to serve in several public service roles, including Chancellor of the University of Pretoria, and director of the SA Reserve Bank. An avid conservationist, he was active in efforts to save wildlife and plant species, for which he became internationally renowned.
