Diane Von Furstenberg fashion designerBorn: 1946 Von Furstenberg is the creator of the now-classic V-neck wraparound knit dress. During the 1970s, when Von Furstenberg introduced the slinky dress, she was selling about 20,000 a week. By 1975 more than 5 million had been sold. Her wraparound dress had a revival in the late 1990s, when Von Furstenberg brought it back by popular demand. Once again, the casual, easy-to-wear dress was a hit, and it quickly sold out of many stores. Fact Monster/Information Please® Database, © 2007 Pearson Education, Inc. All rights reserved.
