Randy Cunningham,

former Republican Congressman from California, was sentenced to eight years in prison and ordered to pay more than $3.6 million in fines and restitution in March. In 2005, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery, tax evasion, wire fraud, and mail fraud. He took at least $2.4 million from contractors in exchange for help in securing government contracts. The gifts included cash, cars, rugs, antiques, and vacations.
