former U.S. Olympic player (1964,68) who coached 1980 “Miracle on Ice” team to gold medal and 2002 U.S. team to silver medal; coached Minnesota to 3 NCAA titles (1974,76,78); also coached NY Rangers, Minnesota, New Jersey and Pittsburgh in NHL.
