youngest (age 19) to win heavyweight title (WBC in 1986); undisputed champ from 1987 until upset loss to 42-1 shot Buster Douglas on Feb. 10, 1990, in Tokyo; found guilty on Feb. 10, 1992, of raping 18-year-old Miss Black America contestant Desiree Washington in Indianapolis on July 19, 1991; sentenced to 6-year prison term; released May 9, 1995 after serving 3 years; reclaimed WBC and WBA belts with wins over Frank Bruno and Bruce Seldon in 1996; lost WBA title to Evander Holyfield in 1996; he bit Holyfield's ear twice during their 1997 WBA title rematch; was KO'd in 8th round by Lennox Lewis in 2002; despite earning $300m in his career, he filed for bankruptcy in 2003. After an ill-prepared Tyson was defeated by Irish fighter Kevin McBride in six rounds in June 2005, it appeared that he would hang up his gloves with a record of 50–6, with 44 KOs.
