Film actor, director and producer known for his swaggering screen persona and colorful personal life. Hopper made his film debut in Rebel Without a Cause (1955), directed the hit road movie Easy Rider (1969), and played crazed misfits in Apocalypse Now (1979) and Blue Velvet (1986). He is also an accomplished photographer.
