She acted in and directed Hanging Up (2000) with Meg Ryan, Lisa Kudrow, and Walter Matthau, and appeared with Warren Beatty and Goldie Hawn in Town & Country (2001). Her performance opposite Jack Nicholson in Something's Gotta Give (2003) netted her an Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe award.
