Frances McDormand

Academy Award-winning film and stage character actress known for her versatility and her role as the unflappable, pregnant Sheriff Marge Gunderson in the sinister comedy Fargo (1996). Her other roles include Blood Simple (1984), Mississippi Burning (1988), The Wonder Boys (2000), Almost Famous (2000), for which she was nominated for an Academy Award and The Man Who Wasn't There (2001). Her supporting role in North Country (2005) earned her Golden Globe and Oscar nominations. She is married to filmmaker Joel Coen.
