Paul Mazursky(Irwin Mazursky)
This versatile filmmaker debuted as an actor in Stanley Kubrick's first film, Fear and Desire (1953). In the 1960s he wrote for television (The Danny Kaye Show and The Monkees). He broke into directing with Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969), at the time considered racy and daring. His most successful films include An Unmarried Woman (1978), Moscow on the Hudson (1984), and Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986). Mazursky often acts in the films he directs.
