Ned Beatty

Chubby and sympathetic character actor who appeared in several of the most highly acclaimed movies of the 1970's, including Deliverance (1972), Nashville (1975), Network (1976), Superman (1978), Gulliver's Travels (1996), Cookie's Fortune (1999) and Spring Forward (2000). He has also appeared on Broadway and in two hit television series, as Ed Connor on Roseanne (1988–97) and as Stan Bolander on Homicide: Life on the Streets (1993–94).
