Marie Marchowsky choreographer, dancerBorn: 1919 Birthplace: New York City After studying at Martha Graham's school for modern dance, Marchowsky pursued a career as performer, teacher, and choreographer. She danced in Graham's company (1934–40), performing in works such as Panorama (1935) and American Lyric (1937). She formed her own small troupe in 1946 and choreographed pieces set to music by contemporary composers. Prominent among her solo work is Ebb Tide (1948).
