Actress who got her start playing the girl-next-door in movies like Adventures in Babysitting (1987) and Back to the Future, parts II and III (1989, 1990). Playing against type in 1995's Leaving Las Vegas, she earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Her films include Deconstructing Harry (1997), Cousin Bette (1998), Molly (1999) and Hollow Man (2000). She also appeared in a made-for-television movie, Amy & Isabelle (2001). Her brother is actor Andrew Shue. After leaving Harvard in 1985 to pursue her acting career, Shue finally finished her political science degree in 2000.
