Kristin Scott Thomas

After being discouraged by her English acting teachers, Scott Thomas moved to Paris at the age of 19, where she studied at L'Ecole Nationale des Arts et Technique de Theatre de Paris, met her future husband, and eventually settled. She is bilingual, with acting credits in French, English, and American films, including A Handful of Dust (1988), Aux Yeux du Monde (1991), The English Patient (1996), for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar, The Horse Whisperer (1998), The Revengers' Comedies (1998), Play (2000), Life as a House (2001) and Gosford Park (2001).
