Ruggedly good-looking, O'Neal became famous as a star of the soap opera Peyton Place (1964–69). His memorable films include the melodramatic hit Love Story (1970), which earned him an Oscar nomination, and Barry Lyndon (1975). He appeared in Paper Moon (1973) with his daughter Tatum. O'Neal has been married to actresses Joanna Moore and Leigh Taylor-Young and had a long relationship with Farrah Fawcett.
