A character player known especially for his portrayals of obnoxious, slightly sleazy yet harmless types, he has appeared in the movies 9 to 5 (1980), On Golden Pond (1981), Tootsie (1982), War Games (1983) and Casanova Falling (1999). He also starred in several TV series, including Buffalo Bill (1983–84), The Slap Maxwell Story (1987–88), and Madman of the People (1994–95).
