Intelligent (she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky) and beautiful, Ashley Judd didn't head to Hollywood until after college. When she finally got there she was signed by an agency immediately, and has had supporting roles in films such as Smoke (1995), Heat (1995), A Time to Kill (1996), and Kiss the Girls (1997). She appeared in the TV/HBO movie Norma Jean and Marilyn (1995) for which she received an Emmy nomination, and had recurring roles on Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987) and Sisters (1991–94). In 1999 she costarred with Tommy Lee Jones in the hit movie Double Jeopardy. Other films include Where the Heart Is (2000), Someone Like You (2001), Frida (2002), as Linda Porter in De-Lovely (2004), and is pencilled in for the 2007 remake of The Women. She is the sister of country star Wynonna Judd and daughter of country star Naomi Judd
