Charlie Sheen

(Carlos Irwin Esteves)
actor
Born: 9/3/1965
Birthplace: New York, New York

Though he has worked with big name directors and actors, Sheen has had difficulty building a cohesive career. Having worked in serious roles with Oliver Stone in Platoon (1986) and Wall Street (1987) and John Sayles in Eight Men Out (1988), he has damaged his credibility somewhat by appearing in spoofs like Hot Shots (1991, Part Deux, 1993), Loaded Weapon (1993), and Major League (1989 and 1994). Various other films include Terminal Velocity (1994), The Arrival (1996), Rated X (2000) and Good Advice (2001). He won a Golden Globe in 2002 for his role as Deputy Mayor Charlie Crawford in Spin City (1996–). Sheen is the son of actor Martin Sheen and the brother of actor Emilio Estevez. He conquered his battle with substance abuse after a stint in a rehabilitation clinic.
