Ivan Reitman

Reitman moved to Canada as a child. Often using talent from the Second City comedy troupe/Saturday Night Live casts, he has enjoyed great success as a director and producer of comic films. He coproduced Animal House (1978) and directed Meatballs (1979) and Ghostbusters (1984; he directed and produced its sequels). He directed and produced Stripes (1981) and Dave (1993). Reitman produced Twins (1988), Arnold Schwarzenegger's first comic hit, as well as the recent films Space Jam (1996) and Private Parts (1997). He was co-nominated for Emmy Awards for the TV movies The Heidi Chronicles (1995) and The Late Shift (1996).
