Musician known whose smooth voice and revival of swing and big band have drawn comparisons to Frank Sinatra. Connick was playing piano at age three and performing with a New Orleans jazz band by age ten. He later attended the Manhattan School of Music (1979) and released Harry Connick, Jr. in 1987. He won Best Jazz Vocal Performance Grammy Awards for the soundtrack When Harry Met Sally (1989) and We Are in Love (1990). Other albums include Blue Light, Red Light (1991), Star Turtle (1996) and To See You (1997). The singer also launched a successful acting career with the movie Memphis Belle (1990). Other notable films include Independence Day (1996) and Hope Floats (1998). He is married to former model Jill Goodacre, and has two daughters.
