Postal Workers Bitten by Dogs, by District The U.S. Postal Service reported that 3,070 postal workers were victims of dog bites in fiscal year 2002. Dog bites to postal employees peaked during the mid-1980s when more than 7,000 letter carriers were attacked annually.
